Fundraising organised by the Plateforme Citoyenne

As you may be aware, countries forming part of the SIDS, including Mauritius, are the most vulnerable towards the challenges posed by climate change and global warming.  Our organization, the “Plateforme Citoyenne” (PC) has dedicated its action to environment protection, sustainable development, the non-proliferation of coal powered plants in Mauritius and a gradual shift towards renewable energies in order to meet the Maurice Ile Durable target of having 35% of renewable energies in the energy mix of Mauritius by 2025.

In line with the above, PC  has embarked in a big challenge, with the objective, to participate and contribute in a significant manner in the 3rd Conference of the SIDS (Small Island Developing States) to be held from 28 August to 4 September 2014 in Apia, Samoa.  As at date, our efforts have not been made in vain as two members of our association have been nominated by the United Nations (UN) to sit on the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders Steering Committee.
